Core Gateway College, Inc. (CGCI) K-6 Young student Journalists bag top awards during the SJCPRISAA Cluster Press Conference held on January 31, 2026, at Saint Joseph School, San Jose City.
Carrying the theme “Navigating the Digital Frontier: Responsible Journalism in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.),” the event gathered elementary student journalists from different schools across the cluster.
Reem Zainab Valeriano (Grade 5) led the delegation after being held as Champion in Column Writing (Filipino) under coach Kim Jaren Suarez, K-6 Teacher.
Strong finishes were also recorded by Ellery D. Fulgencio (Grade 6), Second Place in Pagsulat ng Lathalain; Greta Gulla (Grade 6), Third Place in Copy Reading; and Dhancel Anne Soliven (Grade 6), Third Place in Editorial Writing (Filipino), all under the mentorship of Ms. Suarez.
Meanwhile, Rauel Anjello Serquiña (Grade 6) clinched Second Place in Sports Writing, and Amara Benisse Moleta (Grade 4) earned Third Place in Editorial Cartooning, under the guidance of Ms. Lady Kahren Valdez, K-6 Teacher.
Also earning recognition were Althea Abelardo (Grade 4) in Pagsulat ng Balita and Jesica Tabios (Grade 5) Column Writing, who both finished Fifth Place.
Six CGCI's student journalists will advance to the Division School Press Conference, marking another milestone for CGCI’s campus journalism program.
