The CGCI Research Agenda for 2026–2028 is strategically designed to ensure that the institution's research initiatives address local, regional, national, and global development priorities. It is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023–2028, and the Central Luzon Regional Development Plan (CLRDP) 2023–2028. Through these alignments, CGCI aims to produce relevant, evidence-based, and community-responsive research that advances sustainable development and institutional excellence.
The Health, Wellness, and Community Development research agenda is aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, the Philippine Development Plan's Boost Health strategy, and the corresponding priority of the Central Luzon Regional Development Plan. It supports research on mental health, health education, digital health solutions, workplace wellness, and community health promotion. These priority areas are intended to improve health outcomes, strengthen community resilience, and promote overall well-being through research and innovation.
The Educational Innovation, Research, and Lifelong Learning research agenda supports SDG 4: Quality Education and aligns with national and regional development plans to improve education and lifelong learning. It prioritizes studies on curriculum enhancement, teaching and learning innovations, technology integration, artificial intelligence, educational assessment, teacher development, and digital literacy. These research areas aim to improve educational quality, student achievement, and institutional responsiveness to emerging educational needs.
The Gender Equality, Inclusive Development, and Social Empowerment research agenda is anchored on SDG 5: Gender Equality and is aligned with the Philippine Development Plan and the Central Luzon Regional Development Plan. It emphasizes Gender and Development (GAD), women entrepreneurship, gender-responsive education and governance, social inclusion, youth empowerment, and inclusive community development. Through these priority areas, CGCI seeks to promote equitable opportunities, empower marginalized sectors, and foster inclusive and sustainable communities.
The Environmental Sustainability, Digital Innovation, and Climate Resilience research agenda supports SDG 13: Climate Action and aligns with the climate action and disaster resilience priorities of the Philippine Development Plan and the Central Luzon Regional Development Plan. It encourages research on environmental education, climate change awareness, disaster risk reduction, green entrepreneurship, ICT-based environmental monitoring, and community climate adaptation. These priority areas aim to generate innovative solutions that strengthen environmental sustainability and community resilience.
The Governance, Public Safety, Justice, and Institutional Excellence research agenda is aligned with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions and supports the governance and peace priorities of the Philippine Development Plan and the Central Luzon Regional Development Plan. It focuses on public administration, policy analysis, good governance, cybersecurity, information systems, ethics, leadership, and institutional quality assurance. These research priorities contribute to strengthening institutional effectiveness, promoting transparency, and improving public service delivery.
The CGCI Research Agenda for 2026–2028 provides a strategic framework that integrates international, national, regional, and institutional priorities into a unified research direction. The identified priority areas guide faculty members, researchers, students, and partners in conducting interdisciplinary and community-responsive research. Ultimately, the agenda aims to generate knowledge, foster innovation, inform policy, and contribute to sustainable and inclusive development within Central Luzon and beyond.
