I-CORE made history as it secured a spot for the first time in the 23rd Regional Higher Education Press Conference (RHEPC), participated by 37 publications in Region III with 541 campus journalists held from February 5-7 at Palm Cabanas Resort, Arayat, Pampanga. Literary Editor Dev Rohan Quirino clinched the 10th place individual award for Poetry Writing - Filipino among all 37 participating publications in Region III. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the institution, showcasing its excellence in campus journalism despite its almost only 2-year old establishment. The I-CORE team's achievement was met with overwhelming joy and pride. They had worked tirelessly to compete against some of the best collegiate publications in the region. Ms. Hanieline V. Emana, the team's adviser, expressed excitement over this historic feat. “Considering that this is just the second time we participated in RHEPC and the publication is just almost 2 years in existence, this is a huge achievement for us knowing that my young journalist really pushed their way for improvement. With this award, I am sure that we are paving the way and making strides for the future of Journalism in our institution” the adviser said. Contributing also to this achievement are the following student journalists: Editor-In-Chief Kentchie de Guzaman Associate Editor Christian Sembrano Managing Editor Kimberly Quitlong This recognition highlights I-CORE’s growing influence in the region’s collegiate press landscape, setting a new standard for future school participants.
