Senior High School

OVERVIEW

The Senior High School Department at Core Gateway College, Inc. has linked its curriculum to the Strengthened Senior High School curriculum. This aims to empower students for lifelong learning, job readiness, and skill development by making the curriculum more adaptable and practical. In this program, the four tracks are reduced to two tracks, and students may choose the Academic Track or the Technical Professional Track (TechPro). However, we only offer the Academic Track where students may choose from our three (3) academic electives: (1) Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities, (2) Business and Entrepreneurship, (3) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Under Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities, we offer subjects such as Citizenship and Civic Engagement, Creative Writing, Cultivating Filipino Identity through the Arts, Introduction to the Philosophy of the Human Arts, Philippine Politics and Governance, The Social Sciences in Theory and Practice, Filipino sa Teknikal-Propesyonal, and Wika at Komunikasyon sa Akademikong Filipino. Under the Business and Entrepreneurship, we offer subjects such as Basic Accounting, Business Finance and Income Taxation, Contemporary Marketing and Business Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Introduction to Organization and Management. Under the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, we offer subjects such as Advance Mathematics 1-2, Biology 1-2, Chemistry 1-2, Empowerment Technologies, Pre-calculus 1-2, and Physics 1-2. Students are responsible for selecting their subjects, rather than being pre-selected based on their chosen course or strand. In this way, students have the freedom to choose subjects that align with their chosen course in college.

Batingaw (Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities) Organization is a student-led organization dedicated to promoting critical thinking, creativity, and social awareness among Senior High School students under the HUMSS strand. It aims to empower students through academic enrichment, civic engagement, and leadership development, fostering a community that values expression, advocacy, and service.

ESC (Executive Student Council) is an income-generating student organization under Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) and Business and Entrepreneurship that uses business principles to support school programs and activities. Through entrepreneurial initiatives, the council not only enhances students' leadership and management skills but also provides financial assistance to other student-led projects and events.

SEED (Science, Engineering, and Environmental Development) is a dynamic STEM program dedicated to empowering young minds to address real-world challenges through science, engineering, and environmental stewardship.

BASA (Balik-Aral sa Silid Aklatan) is a reading enrichment program designed to support students with their reading comprehension and reading skills. Through guided reading sessions and engaging literacy activities held in the library, BASA helps students improve their understanding, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for reading.

Senior High School Student Council is a student-led organization committed to promoting and upholding the school’s core values through meaningful initiatives and active participation. It serves as a platform for students to grow as leaders, collaborate effectively, and develop critical problem-solving skills, while creating a positive and inclusive school environment.

The Cornerstone is the official student publication of the senior high school department, will always champion freedom of the press and prioritize the well-being and interests of the students, striving to provide reliable information and acting as the voice of the students, for the students, and by the students.

SIKLAB Socio-Cultural Organization that promotes Filipino culture and heritage through various forms of music, dance, and performance. It provides students with opportunities to showcase traditional and contemporary Filipino artistry, fostering a deeper appreciation for national identity. Through creative expression, SIKLAB helps preserve cultural values while inspiring the youth to take pride in their roots.

The Sports Development Unit of the SHS Department is committed to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students through organized sports programs, training, and competitions. It provides opportunities for student-athletes to develop their athletic potential, engage in healthy competition, and represent the school in various sporting events, while fostering a culture of excellence, wellness, and active lifestyle.
